Dahlia Blue Bayou is a collarette/anemone flowered variety. Looking very similar to a scabious, this variety has a truly stunning bloom. Lilac/blue petals surround a deep purple textured centre.
Dahlia Blue Bayou is a free flowering variety that is a magnet for butterflies and bees and provides a source of food late into the Autumn. It grows to an eventual flowering height of 90cm.
Flowering through the Summer into Autumn, deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers. Flowers are perfect for cutting and look stunning in a mixed border or patio pot.
Grow in fertile, well-drained soil, enriched with lots of organic matter and general purpose fertiliser, in full sun. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushy plants and stake. Water freely in dry periods. Lift and store tubers in autumn to replant or use as a source of cuttings in spring.
