Lily Dark Secret is a rare and deeply coloured Asiatic Lily. A truly impressive lily that has proven very popular at shows and with the public. This Asiatic Lily produces glossy bright green leaves with bold, petals that are almost black! The petals have a velvety look and really add to the drama of the bloom.
Growing to 90cm tall. The lack of scent is more than made up by its utter beauty!
Plant lilies in the spring between March and April for summer blooms. Lilium/Lilies are ideal for large, showy displays and many are fragrant varieties. Easy to grow in well drained soil and in a sunny position.
Ensure that bulbs are not sitting in water throughout the colder months so that they do not rot. Lilies will come back every year and will eventually naturalise and produce more plants. You can propagate your own lilies by peeling back the scales of the bulb and sealing them in a bag with moist vermiculite.
Lilies are a firm favourite of florists and flower arrangers because of their beautiful range of colours, strong tall stems, longevity once cut and of course fragrance.
