Begonia Odorata Mixed not only looks stunning but also has the most incredible fragrance. A wonderful mix of pink, white and red this variety will give you an abundance of colour in sun or shade!
Begonia Odorata Mixed has stunning green, mottled foliage and looks lovely cascading over the edge of hanging baskets.
Pot up in early spring for flowers in the summer. Begonias are tender so must be protected from frosts, however you can pot them up and grow them on under glass from January onwards. The corms are bowl shaped, the indented side of the tuber is the top, and this should be covered only slightly with compost. Water well and keep them in a bright, warm spot. Only water again when the soil becomes dry.
Once they are growing you can water freely but ensure they are never sitting in waterlogged soil. During the growing season they can be fed with a high potash fertiliser to encourage flowering. Begonias will not tolerate any frost so if you want to keep them over winter, they will need to be lifted and stored somewhere cool and dry once all of the foliage has died back naturally.
