Capital Gardens Hosts Spectacular Summer EventColin Campbell-Preston
Capital Gardens were delighted to play host last week, as customers, new and old, congregated for our ever-popular summer event. Green-fingered friends descended upon our Alexandra Palace garden centre, keen to take advantage of the great discounts and enjoy the food and entertainment on offer.
Guests were treated to live entertainment courtesy of an authentic Cuban musical troupe, adding a spicy fiesta flavour to proceedings. Some truly unforgettable dance moves were thrown as the evening got into full swing, but unfortunately we did not manage to get any pictures of the movers and groovers.
And the 15% discount on Capital Gardens stock always proves popular at this bi-annual event (look out for winter’s event to be announced soon), as our friends snapped up great deals for their gardens and homes.
But there was also a more serious element to proceedings with one of our nominated charities, the Arbours Association, attending the event. We have worked closely with the Arbours Association for some time now, providing gardening equipment for their sites. It was lovely to see them all, and give them a chance to mingle with the Capital Gardens team.
For more than 40 years, the Arbours Association has helped provide psychotherapeutic support for individuals with serious emotional problems. The Arbours team offers support through two live-in support communities in quiet areas of North London. Here, residents are provided with private living quarters in a nurturing, non-institutional environment. Experienced care professionals help the residents work on the difficulties in their daily lives, and motivate them to find solutions so they can live as viable members of society.
Arbours Association’s office administrator, Ginnie Smith, enthused about the charity’s relationship with Capital Gardens:
“We have had terrific help from the Capital Gardens Alexandra Palace Garden Centre in providing tools, seeds, bark chippings and garden furniture for Dukes Avenue. They also donated a Christmas tree and gifts in 2014. We were adopted as one of their local charities for a successful funding and awareness-raising evening at the Garden Centre in June 2015 and June 2016, and continue to have an ongoing relationship with them.”
Even if you missed the Capital Gardens summer event, we’ve still got great deals on a huge range of garden supplies, bulbs, seeds and more throughout all three of our sites. For more information, head over to our homepage or give us a call on 0208 348 5054.
