PLEASE NOTE;
- This feeder is only able to protect against adult grey squirrels and large adult birds.
- Some birds, unable to fit through the bars may still manage to get their head into the feeder.
- Adolescent young squirrels could squeeze into the feeder due to their flexibility.
- The young squirrels look very similar to adults.
- This issue is temporary as it is a seasonal issue.
The reason the bars are not made smaller on this product is, doing so would cause the product to become a risk to birds.
A great deterrent – Add chilli flakes to the feed mix, this is harmless to birds and will deter squirrels.
Hygiene;
- Always ensure garden birds have plenty of fresh clean water for drinking and bathing.
- Clean feeding and drinking areas regularly with a mild disinfectant.
- Keep food fresh and dry, removing any wet food to prevent the spread of bacteria and diseases.
