Dahlia Arbatax is a decorative variety with stunning water lily style flowers. The petals are white with a soft pink edge and a buttery yellow centre. The colours of the petals actually deepen as they age adding to the beauty of the plant.
Dahlia Arbatax grow to around 90cm tall and would look stunning in a pastel border or cottage style bed. An ideal variety for cut flowers and have a long vase life.
Flowering through the Summer into Autumn, deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers. Flowers are perfect for cutting and look stunning in a mixed border or patio pot.
Grow in fertile, well-drained soil, enriched with lots of organic matter and general purpose fertiliser, in full sun. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushy plants and stake. Water freely in dry periods. Lift and store tubers in autumn to replant or use as a source of cuttings in spring.
Dahlia tubers are available at Capital Gardens during the early spring for a limited time only or until stocks last.
