Tulip Purple Crystal – A perennial bulb with broadly lance-shaped green leaves and single, cup-shaped dark plum-purple flowers with finely fringed petals.

Stands approximately up to 45cm high.

Tulips are amongst the most popular of bulbs, valued for their brilliant flower colours and shapes.

Tulip Purple Crystal looks excellent at the front of beds mixed with other colourful varieties. It also looks fantastic in a pot/container by itself.

• Flowering: April/ May.
• Aspect: Sun.
• Foliage Colour: Green with darker green shades.
• Height : up to 45 cm.

 

Plant from mid to late autumn this is later than most bulbs but a late planting can help reduce problems with the disease tulip fire.

Use only healthy bulbs, discarding any that show signs of damage or mould.

Plant at least twice the bulb’s width apart, and at a depth of two or three times the bulb’s height.
