Amaryllis Christmas Star – This Amaryllis has large trumpet like flowers with, vibrant red tips a soft green centre with bright white inner accents. Truly a beautiful flower It’s especially wonderful in cut flower arrangements over the holidays.

The ‘Amaryllis Christmas Star’ will flower 6 – 8 weeks after planting.

• Height : 40 cm – 60 cm.

 

If your amaryllis is not already potted, plant each amaryllis bulb in a 6-8″ pot.

Heavy pots are recommended as lightweight pots could tip over under the weight of the blooms.

Plant the bulb, pointed-end-up, in a potting mix such as bulb compost or if you cannot get bulb compost, multipurpose will do fine.

Pack the soil gently around the bulb so approximately one-third of the bulb remains above the soil line.

Place the pot in a location that receives bright, indirect light.

Water sparingly until you see about 2″ of new growth. From then on, water regularly.

Flower buds will appear at the top of each stalk, followed by a dramatic floral display. To prolong the blooms, keep the pot out of direct sunlight.

Feed with a liquid feed such as Miracle-gro all purpose feed during flowering to encourage more flowers and slow feeding down once all blooms have finished.
