The British bred Pea ‘Oasis’ is a wonderful maincrop variety that produces very heavy yields of wonderful quality. They grow to a height of up to 70cm and spread 25cm, the plants bear two blunt ended pods per node, each averaging 8 to 9 succulent deep green peas per pod.

They have a good resistance to pea wilt downy mildew, and are one of the highest yielding varieties available, demonstrating consistent qualities year after year. ‘Oasis’ is reliable and produces heavy crops with a deliciously sweet flavour.

An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder ‘Oasis’ is a normal leafed maincrop that can be sown in succession from March to June. Usually ready 12 to 14 weeks after sowing in normal circumstances it will crop in mid June onwards. The best thing to do is sow the seeds outside in early to mid March, then sow again in late April to early May. The second sowing will extend the cropping season and produce peas every three months.

Position in a sunny location with well drained and rich soil.
