Cucumber Mini Munch Thompson & Morgan

£3.99

The ‘Mini Munch’ Cucumber is an all female variety that is a particularly heavy cropper, if harvested regularly. Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, ‘Mini Munch’ makes the perfect lunchbox snack if picked when young, at a length of 7cm. If picked when more mature they make a perfect addition when sliced and put into salads or sandwiches.

They have a crunchy texture and delicious flavour and are best eaten straight from the plant.

When growing, the conditions of your greenhouse or conservatory must be warm and humid, at a temperature of 15C. Sow your seeds from early March to April and then transplant outdoors later on. Sow your cucumber seed on their side at a depth of 1cm in 7.5cm pots with free-draining, seed sowing compost. Place inside a propagator or seal inside a plastic bag at a temperature of 20C until germination, which can take up to 10 days. Protect any emerging seedlings from direct sunlight to avoid scorching. Grow on until large enough to handle, keeping the compost moist but not wet.

Transplant them into a growbag or 45cm apart in a warm and humid greenhouse. Plant at a distance of 90cm apart. Water well until they are fully established.

Harvest: June to October
