Orange Scented Thyme is a low-growing and wiry-stemmed perennial. The grey-green leaves are intoxicatingly fragrant with a scrumptious scent of oranges. Native to Southern Europe this wonderful herb is now grown across the UK for its versatility. The attractive foliage and long-lasting flowers are really lovely. It is drought tolerant and generally easy to care for- it is also very useful in the kitchen!

Growing to a height of up to 30cm the sweet soft pink flowers will be highly attractive to pollinating insect and bees.

Preferring well-drained light soil, that is not too rich in nutrients, and a location with full sun, they make a suitable addition to a rock garden, herb garden or at the front of a border. They are also renowned for being brilliant container and pot plants- perfect for a kitchen window sill or within a basket.

The taste of this thyme blends perfectly in stuffings and stews and will give a citrusy lift to any pie or chutney.
