Both of these hardy plants are simple to grow and well-suited to UK climates – meaning you’ll get maximum reward for your efforts. The two crops also provide an exceptional introduction to gardening for inexperienced or young gardeners looking to become more actively involved in the garden.

  • ACCORD

    First Early – 2kg

    The ‘Accord’ potato is a first early variety that produces high yields of uniform, oval tubers which look and taste sublime.

    Their creamy white skin and soft flesh is extremely versatile and you can use them for almost any culinary purpose. They are easy to grow and perfect for growing in containers.

    With a good disease resistance to common and powdery scab, it also is resistant to double eelworm.

    The waxy texture of the potatoes means that they are firmer and hold their shape which makes them useful when boiled, steamed, chipped or roasted.

    Plant from mid February to April and the crop will be ready to harvest from June until July.

  • ANYA

    Second Early – 2kg

    The ‘Anya’ potato has a distinct and nutty flavour with creamy and waxy flesh. A second early potato that should be planted between March and May and harvested from July until August- they just over four months from planting until picking!

    The long tubers are easy to grow with an excellent flavour that is even favoured by chefs.

    They have relatively good resistance to common scab and blackleg but can be susceptible to eelworm, blight and powdery scab and are also low yielding- they are certainly worth the effort, just so you can experience the delicious and distinctive nutty flavour for yourself. A very rewarding variety to grow.

    Ensure you choose a sunny position to grow your ‘Anya’ potatoes in fertile and well drained soil. Plant 10cm deep, 30cm apart in rows that are up to 60cm apart.

    First Early

    The ‘Colleen’ potato is very high yielding. They produce wonderfully uniform tubers which make ideal boiled potatoes.

    Short, oval with yellow skin and creamy yellow flesh and shallow eyes ‘Colleen’ is a late, early bulking variety with waxy flesh. They are particularly good for baking and chipping as well as making an excellent new potato.

    ‘Colleen’ has a good disease resistance too.

    For an early crop plant in February to March- and harvest in May. Alternatively plant normally from April and harvest your crop in June to July.
