Onion Radar Taylors Bulbs

£1.99

‘Radar’ are a top performing onion variety that produces sets from September, ready for harvesting in May next season. This variety is a long standing favourite, chosen for its reliable cropping, bolt resistance and winter hardiness.

This Japanese heritage onion will produce mild flavoured onions, delicious when eaten fresh or stored through to autumn. The short and wide bulbs produce rich straw coloured skins and crisp white flesh.

Plant your onion sets in rows of any form, in a location with full sun and well drained soil. Prepare the planting area several weeks in advance by incorporating some well rotted garden compost to improve drainage and soil fertility. Avoid planting your onions on freshly manured soil. On particularly wet ground try growing your onion sets in raised beds. When growing from sets, plant the bulbs so that the tip of the bulb is just protruding through the soil surface. Leave a space of 10cm between each bulb and 30cm between each row.

Height: 45cm
