Mangetout Oregon Sugar Pod Thompson & Morgan
£3.69This is surely the sensible way to grow and eat peas – no time consuming podding, no waste, just heavy crops of delicious, sweet and juicy pods of sugar-peas, often called ‘Mangetout’ or ‘Snow peas’. Well flavoured and excellent for lightly steaming or stir-fries,. The pods of Mangetout Pea Oregon Sugar Pod are large and flat (4½ inches long by ¾ inch wide) and stringless when young. This is the way peas will be eaten in the future. It just doesn’t make sense to go through the tediousness of discarding the pod if its so full of goodness and so delicious to taste.

Pea Oasis Thompson & Morgan
£2.99The British bred Pea ‘Oasis’ is a wonderful maincrop variety that produces very heavy yields of wonderful quality. They grow to a height of up to 70cm and spread 25cm, the plants bear two blunt ended pods per node, each averaging 8 to 9 succulent deep green peas per pod.
They have a good resistance to pea wilt downy mildew, and are one of the highest yielding varieties available, demonstrating consistent qualities year after year. ‘Oasis’ is reliable and produces heavy crops with a deliciously sweet flavour.
An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder ‘Oasis’ is a normal leafed maincrop that can be sown in succession from March to June. Usually ready 12 to 14 weeks after sowing in normal circumstances it will crop in mid June onwards. The best thing to do is sow the seeds outside in early to mid March, then sow again in late April to early May. The second sowing will extend the cropping season and produce peas every three months.

Climbing Bean Borlotto Lingua (Firetongue) Thompson & Morgan

Mangetout Shiraz Thompson & Morgan

The British bred variety is trouble free, producing impressive crops with Fusarium Wilt resistance and Downy Mildew tolerance. They are a compact first early variety that is self supporting when grown in blocks, perfect for successional sowing for a longer cropping period.
Directly sow your seeds outdoors from March to June once the soil has warmed and there is no more risk of frost. Choose a weed free position in moist, fertile and well drained soil in full sun. Sow your seeds in flat bottomed drills at a distance of 5cm. For crops in succession, sow seed every 10 days.
