DAHLIA ARABIAN NIGHT

£2.49

Dahlia ‘Arabian Night’ – 1 per pack

The award-winning Dahlia ‘Arabian Night’ features rich satin flowers in the deepest crimson which almost look black in certain light. Their incurved petals contrast against small green floral bracts at their centre which add another dynamic to the flowers. Growing to a height of up to 120cm they would be a great pick for any border, or as a cut flower for your home, as they have wonderful vase life! And the more you cut Dahlia flowers, the more you get!

To get the most out of these wonderful flowers, you should plant them in full sun to light shade and provide consistent moisture during their growing season- make sure the soil does not dry out!

When planting, choose a sheltered location to protect your Dahlias from strong winds, in well-drained and fertile soil.

Dahlias should be planted late spring to avoid frost. Alternately start to grow them in early spring indoors and move outside when the weather is warmer which will give them a head start. During the cold winter months cut the plants to the ground. Then cover with a 7.5-15cm (deep) layer of bark chips or garden compost.

Cultivation suggestions:

  • Insert canes when planting- tie as plant develops.
  • Take off the growing tips once the plants reach approx. 40cm to encourage branching.
  • For bigger blooms restrict the number of flowering stems, remove the two pairs of flower buds developing in the leaf axils below the old bud.
  • Deadhead the flowers as they fade.

Products stocked will vary at each centre, please check availability before you visit to avoid disappointment.

We will be pleased to order out of stock items  but this will be dependent on the availability from the supplier.
