Begonias are a corm that, when planted, produce thick stems that bare unusually shaped and sometimes patterned leaves. They can be either trailing or upright, both are fantastic in their own right. The real focal point though, is the gorgeous big flowers. The flowers are very deep in colour and are produced in abundance throughout the summer season. Perfect in patio pots and borders.     For outdoor cultivation, choose a location with well draining soil and partial shade. Loosen the soil before planting your tubers, then place the tubers in the ground tucking them into the soil without covering the. Plant 8-12 apart with the indented side facing upwards. After planting, settle the soil around the tubers and sprouts will form in just 3 weeks. Water regularly, keeping the soil lightly damp but not wet.
