Delicious lightly steamed or stir-fried, but also lovely raw in salads or as pre-dinner dips. Harvest when the silk tassels begin to show, prior to pollination.
CULTURE: Sow under unheated glass in pots in April for planting outdoors mid-May. Can also be sown outdoors in May preferably under cloches. (14-16 weeks maturity.)
HINTS: For the best flavour use immediately after harvesting the cobs. HEALTH BENEFIT: A source of fibre and vitamin B, also a gluten-free cereal. CULINARY TIP: Delicious cooked and eaten straight off the cob.
