Chempak today is one of the leading manufacturers and formulators of plant foods and garden aids for Britain's vast army of keen amateur gardeners. Chempak offer a range of products including specialist fertilizers and houseplant fertilizers. The company has grown in 35 years from a one-man operation to a company with premises of 30.000sq. ft and staff around 70 people.

Chempak was started by Bill Richardson from his garage at home at home in 1967. As a chemist and keen gardener he started by formulating compost based to turn plain peat into quality soil-less compost. The business grew fast after Bill had developed a range of specialist fertilizers that were quickly taken up by enthusiasts and exhibition growers. Many gardeners learned about the success of these plant foods from the scores of gardening shows attended by Bill in the early years. The growing results proved for themselves the benefits of these various formulas and they were soon being recommended by enthusiasts, journalists and knowledgeable gardeners throughout the UK .Today Chempak offers many unique and original products to promote and enhance the growth of wide range of plants grown in the home, garden, conservatory and greenhouse.
