A naturally occurring, non-toxic, soft mica material. Heated to a high temperature to produce a lightweight, sterile, laminated structure. Recommended for seed sowing and pricking out. Fine Grade Vermiculite absorbs nutrients preventing them from being washed out and then releases them to the plant roots. It also holds moisture near to roots and insulates against fluctuations in surface temperature when used as a seed covering. Use between February-July.
