Sow very thinly during early spring in a well prepared seed bed in drills 1cm (½in) deep spaced 30cm(12in) apart.
When the seedlings are about 15cm (6in) high transplant firmly to their final quarters 50 x 50cm (20 x 20in) apart. When the sprouts start to form pinch out the growing point at the top of the plant to assist development.
Brussels sprouts should not be grown on the same piece of ground for 2 years running or follow other Brassicas (Cabbages, Cauliflowers etc.).
