An excellent strain almost smothered in flowers in rich purple shades. Excellent for a bold spring display. Suitable for rockeries, walls, borders, edging paths, planters, window boxes etc. Flowers early spring. Spread 30-38cm (12-15in).
Sow from late winter to early summer in a good free draining seed compost just covering the seed. Make sure the compost is moist and not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 14-21 days at 18C (65F).
Transplant when large enough to handle into boxes and then 7.5cm (3in) pots. Later plant out 30cm (12in) apart into a well drained garden soil preferably containing lime, in a sunny site.
