Suttons 'fun to grow' Slithering Snakes kit - grow your own snake-like gourds sssssssssssssss

Your Slithering Snakes kit contains:

• 10cm pot
• Magic compost block
• Snake Gourd (Lagenaria leucantha longissi) seed sachet
• Activity Sheet
  

Sow: Mid April - June

How to use your Slithering Snakes Kit:

1. Place the compost block in the pot in an empty sink.  Add water and watch the block grow like magic.  level the compost and push two seeds into the surface (you can use your other seeds in further pots or trays)!
2. Place on a warm windowsill but not direct sunshine (20-25C).  Keep moist and if two little plants appeaer, carefully remove one.  Grow on a windowsill in a coller room (18- 20C).  When your plant is approximately 10-15cm high in June-July plant out 1.5m apart from other plants.  Your 'snakes' will curl into all kinds of shapes!
3. Harvest your Slithering Snakes Gourds in September - October and store in a cool dry place to dry.

When your snake gourds are dry you can get out your paintbox and paint them with all kinds of 'snake' patterns.  See the activity sheet inside for fun ways to paint your snake gourd!
