Delicious as purple beetroot but no fear of staining!
High quality, cylindrical roots with yellow skin and tasty, crisp white flesh.
CULTURE: For early crops choose a bolt-resistant variety and sow March-early April. For use in summer and autumn make successional sowings of suitable varieties from late April to July. Store roots in dry sand, soil, or peat for winter use. (12-16 weeks maturity).
HINTS: Twist off foliage when picking, as cutting will make stems bleed sap. HEALTH BENEFITS: Roots rich in potassium and folate plus some vitamin C, and known to improve the immune system. CULINARY TIPS: Tops of young roots can be used as spinach.
